We are committed to protecting the privacy of families and children. BigTooth is designed with privacy and child safety at its core.

Account Information (Parents)
When a parent creates an account, we collect:
- Email address (for login and account recovery)
- Display name
Profile Information (Children)
Parents create child profiles containing:
- Child's first name
- Date of birth — used solely to filter age-appropriate content and ensure children receive educational material suited to their age group. This is essential to the app's core functionality.
Children do not create accounts and do not provide information directly. All child data is managed by the parent.
Brushing Session Data
During brushing sessions, the app collects:
- Session timestamps and duration
- Photos captured during brushing (4 per session, used for verification)
- Content pack selections and quiz scores
Device Information
We collect basic device information for the purpose of device pairing and push notifications:
- Device type and operating system
- Push notification tokens
2. How We Use Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide and operate the BigTooth app
- Filter content by age group to ensure age-appropriate material
- Verify brushing sessions using AI photo analysis
- Track brushing progress, streaks, and rewards
- Send push notifications about brushing reminders and session results
- Pair child devices to family accounts
3. AI Photo Analysis
Brushing session photos are analysed by AI to verify that the child is brushing properly. This analysis checks for:
- Presence of a person
- Presence of a toothbrush
- Active brushing
Photos are processed on secure servers and are not used for any purpose other than session verification. Photos are only visible to the parent account holder.
4. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Access controlled by authenticated user sessions
- Data stored in secure data centres
Brushing photos are stored in Firebase Storage and are accessible only to authenticated family members.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared with:
- Google Firebase — for authentication, data storage, and cloud functions
- AI processing services — for brushing session photo verification (photos only, no personal identifiers)
- Apple/Google — for push notification delivery
6. Children's Privacy
BigTooth is designed to be used by children under parental supervision. We take children's privacy seriously:
- Children do not create accounts or provide personal information directly
- All child data is managed by and accessible to the parent
- Children access the app via device pairing codes created by parents
- We do not display advertising to children
- We do not collect more information than is necessary for the app to function
7. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as the account is active. Parents can delete child profiles at any time, which removes associated session data. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data, please contact us at support@mybigtooth.com.

You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
